Hey, Kotori! You free? I've got a food question for you.

Oh! Hi, Gobo-kun! Yes, I'm free, what is it?

I was wondering if you might be able to try making something for me! There's this snack from my homeland that's impossible to get here, and I'm kinda really missing it.

I don't think you'll be able to get it exactly, and I don't even know how it's made, but I'm willing to experiment if you are!

[Shhhhh it's okay she's the sameway. She's just lucky to have a high metabolism even for a teenager and that most of her extra fat goes to her chest.]

Huh. I see... Do you know what's in it, at least?

[His reply is far from immediate.]

....Radishes?

[Then another pause before]

Sorry, that's all I know that's in it. That, and that it's made made from powder. I've got a couple with me, if you want to check them out.

Radish powder?

[Yeah, no, already this is way above her skill level.]

Yeah. Sorry I can't be of more help, we Fraggles didn't even know they were made of radishes in the first place until pretty recently.

Well... maybe seeing it in person might give me a clearer idea.

[Hope she doesn't mind a- temporary -tunnel in a clear spot of her cellar, because that's how he's getting there. A knock on the underside of the hatch and everything, to announce his arrival.]

[Just as long as no daikon disappear down it without asking her first...

But Kotori is already waiting in the kitchen, so she hears the knock easily and comes over to open the door quickly.]

Hi, Gobo-kun!

[Of course not! ...Today.

When the door opened he looked up with a bright smile, waving.]

Hey! Special delivery. [He giggled a bit at himself as he reached into one of his upper pockets and pulled out one of the clear sticks visibly poking out the top.] One Doozer stick.

[GOBO! Ugh, where's Molly Weasley when you need her?

And then he pulls THAT out...]

A... Doozer... stick...?

[....... Okay no, what the heck IS this thing?]

[ action ]

[A few hours after this disaster happened, Kotori is going to hear a strange tap tap tapping against one of the main windows of her pub restaurant. Should she investigate, she'll see a little brown hawk looking curiously inside.]

Birdy!

[Luckily for the birdy, Kotori's downstairs, trying to let go of the stress from earlier. Making sukiyaki-don from the pot, some Linzer cookies from scratch (thank goodness for a recipe that doesn't require anything sharper than cookie cutters and butter knives), maybe some reading from the library-- huh?

Kotori looks up a... ridiculously large bird in her window. ... Veeeery cautiously she'll approach the window, but not open it quite yet.]

[The hawk makes a soft chirrup sound as she tilts her head to look at Kotori before hopping closer. There seems to be a piece of paper tied to her leg.]

[ricebird]

[A... messenger bird? What is this, Empatheias? Kotori opens the window slowly and offers her hand to the birdy, like she would to a cat or dog.]

Is... this for me?

[If Akari lets her, she'll reach down to gently untie the paper and hold it up to read.]

[Akari will let Kotori take the note without a fuss and then just watch her as she reads the message:]

My master was a dumbass, but he wants to make it up to you by letting you have a free punch to his stupid face.

[It's probably weird to imagine a hawk's voice saying these words, especially when the bird has its head tilted up in a rather cute angle.

But Kotori won't have to wonder long about the true writer of the message since a few seconds later Akari will chirp and look over to where Rokurou is half hiding half standing by the next building.]

Punch to the...?

[Why would she... She'll follow Akari's gaze out the window to...]

Rokurou-san...?

[rokubro]

[Just a somewhat awkward wave before he steps forward.]

Hey, Kotori.

[ricebird]

[After a few seconds, she lets out a guilty sigh. Seeing Rokurou this awkward and asking her to punch him... it's definitely lead in her stomach.]

You can come in, Rokurou-san. I'm not going to hit you.

[rokubro]

[He knows he did a wrong, okay. Even he can feel a little guilty about that.]

You sure? It's a pretty good offer that most wouldn't pass up.

[But he's walking over.]

[Instead of perking her up, the joke makes her shrink a little more.]

I'm sure.

[The last thing she needs is two mentors hating her... But she still moves from the window to open the door for him.]

I'm... really sorry for snapping at you earlier.

[rokubro]

[Uh...hm. He is striking out a lot, huh. He'll get this.

At her apology, he just shakes his head.]

Nah, it's fine. I was teasing you and went too far, so if anything I'm the one who should apologize. [And he gives her a deep bow.]

[This is the real reason why the Rangetsu clan needed a daughter: so Rokurou could know how to talk to teenage girls.

Still, she's a bit startled at how deep the bow is, eyes widening and beginning to fluster.]

[She sighs and curls in more, fingers reaching up to twist her bangs.]

It's not... like you were wrong. It's a really stupid problem to have. ... I'm...
